Gentle relief

I’m a retired nurse with severe IBS-C. I’m taking Linzess 290 mcg 2 times daily, one cap MiraLAX daily. My stool is soft but my large intestine just doesn’t move. I don’t have much luck with glycerin suppositories. I have been using the Fleeta mini enemas with liquid glycerin almost daily. The cost isn’t cheap and it’s a lot of plastic.

I came up with an idea that I tried, that works. I bought liquid glycerin from Amazon. I washed 3 of the Fleets mini enema applicators in a mild soap. Enemas/suppositories are not sterile procedures. It’s a clean procedure to give one. I used a small medicine cup to draw up the glycerin into the applicators. The glycerin also coats the tip and is lubricating.

This isn’t for everyone in this sub. But for those of us with severe, difficult to treat constipation, this is a godsend. I don’t want a megacolon. I also have Sjogren’s so I drink a lot of fluid daily. All the suggestions I’ve gotten haven’t worked but this does. I hope this helps someone ❤️
