Hi, friends and neighbors! 26 F here and native to W-S.
Looking to make new friends in Winston by joining a new club or community groups. Does anyone know of anything new/niche?
Ideally, the group:
• Meets relatively often (at least a couple times a month)
• Emphasis on folks who are around 22-40yo.
• Mixed gender and LGBT+ friendly with a wide variety of folks from different backgrounds
I’m particularly interested in:
• Art, crafts, etc.
• Writing groups
• Historic Clubs
• Social Movement Brainstorming
• Community Engagement, volunteering groups with purpose that is non-religious
• I’ve also thought of a “Adventuring/Travel” Group based in W-S that like taking trips abroad or nearby; hikes, walks, visiting new cities and staying for the weekend, etc.
• Tabletop, Dungeons and Dragons groups with diversity
I even downloaded Discord for this lmao.
Note; being from Winston and working here, I’m pretty familiar with the availability around here. Associated Artists, Piedmont Craftsmen, Art Crush, Sawtooth, Culture, DOSE, Red Dog Gallery, NCMA W-S, Reynolda, Old Salem, Winston-Salem Social Group on Facebook, Mixxer, Bookmarks, House of Cards, etc. Anything on this list I linked from the “Go To”, I’ve also checked out. I’m looking for groups that are niche, smaller, and haven’t been super public….probably more like a gathering of people than something connected to an establishment or existing org unless it’s small.
