added some whimsy to my rollator ✨

i feel uncomfortable using my mobility aid in public, mostly bc i am “young” and i feel like a fraud or imposter. i tried personalizing it a bit and make it a little prettier to make it more mine and hopefully using it will be more comfortable :)

which aids do u use and did u decorate them ?

have a laugh with me

took some sleeping pills for the first time in a while and while on drugs i apparently decided to have a christmas party in may 😂 last year i adopted cats and still feel sad that i couldn’t celebrate their first christmas or new year eve with them because i was too sick. so i woke up today to see i have ordered bunch of tree ornaments, Christmas decorations and not one but two different christmas trees 😂😂

i guess we’ll be having a summer christmas party this year, depending on how long it will take me to set up everything. guess that’s my life with ME now lol

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this with the help of AI using my voice notes because I’m currently too weak to type properly.

I had a pretty scary episode and I’m trying to understand if this could be PEM / part of a flare, or if it sounds like something else that I should get checked again.

For context: I have ME/CFS (recent diagnosis), and I’ve been in a flare for about a week after going out for a coffee for the first time in months. Since then, I’ve been mostly resting at home and already feeling worse than usual.

Today was particularly bad — extreme fatigue, barely able to eat, and some weird symptoms like numbness and tingling in my arms/hands (like “ants under the skin”).

In the evening I tried to eat something (burger + fries), and right after finishing eating, I suddenly felt very nauseous and had to vomit. Then things escalated really fast:

- intense dizziness
- feeling extremely hot + sweating but also chills/goosebumps
- couldn’t stand properly, had to hold onto walls
- felt like I was going to pass out

At some point I lost consciousness. I don’t know for how long.

When I woke up:
- I didn’t know where I was at first
- I had clearly hit my head (big bump on my forehead, still painful)
- my neck hurts a lot and I can barely move it

Then it got even scarier:

I tried to move but my body wouldn’t respond at all. I couldn’t open my hands or move properly — it felt like my muscles were “stuck” or glued. I was sweating, confused, panicking, and alone.

I was lying on the floor for what felt like 15–20 minutes, trying to move, crying and hyperventilating. Eventually I slowly regained some movement, but every time I tried to get up I got dizzy again and had to lie back down.

I eventually managed to call my sister (she works in emergency services), and she told me to call an ambulance, which I did.

They took me to the hospital. Honestly, the experience there wasn’t great, but they basically told me I was “fine” and gave me something to calm down / relax muscles and sent me home.

Additional detail: today I also realized that two of my teeth are broken, likely from the fall or possibly from clenching during the episode.

---

Now I’m confused and honestly a bit scared.

My questions:

- Has anyone experienced something like this during PEM or a severe crash?
- Can ME/CFS (or dysautonomia) cause episodes like this — fainting + temporary inability to move?
- Or does this sound like something else entirely?
- Would you push for further medical evaluation after something like this?

What worries me most is:
- losing consciousness
- the confusion after waking up
- not being able to move my body for a while
- hitting my head + neck pain
- broken teeth from the episode

I’m currently at home resting, but unsure if I should go back to a doctor or just treat this as a severe crash.

Any similar experiences or guidance would really help right now. I feel pretty shaken.

Thank you 🤍
