Do FIP symptoms sometimes come and go?

My 8 month old male kitten is a suspected FIP case. Symptoms began roughly 3 weeks ago with limping on alternating limbs followed by vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and fever.

Hours after receiving fluids and Cerenia, he bounced back to normal and was fine until this week. He had a repeat of symptoms under the exact same pattern.

His bloodwork was fairly boring per the vet, but his A/G ratio is a 0.6 and liver values were slightly elevated. Because FIP is a possibility, he was marked as a suspected case and just started GS-441524 today.

What’s strange is that he’ll go from normal to having a flare up within a 30 minute period. He rebounds just as fast after getting fluids. I thought FIP is more of a progressive disease vs. coming and going like this.

Attached is a clip of him after a flare up during his rebound stage. You would never know he had to be rushed to urgent care shortly before this was taken. This is also before his GS-441524 began.
