Title: Significant Service Degradation on Freepik Premium+ (Post-Branding Change): 400% Slower & Arbitrary Censorship
I am a professional creator and a Premium+ subscriber. Less than two weeks after renewing my 1-year subscription, the service underwent a massive, unannounced "stealth nerf" that has completely destroyed my professional workflow.
Here is the data comparing the service before and after the transition from Magnific back to Freepik:
- Performance & Efficiency (Massive Downgrade)
Queue Capacity: I recall having up to 24 slots in the queue. Now, it has been slashed to 12.
Concurrent Generation Removed:
Before: Even in "Unlimited Slow Mode," the system generated 4 images concurrently. I could queue 16 images and finish them within 10 minutes.
Now: Concurrent generation is disabled in Slow Mode. It processes only 1 image at a time.
Generation Speed:
Before: 4 images took 15–20s (Booster) or 1–1.5m (Slow Mode).
Now: A single image takes 2 to 2.5 minutes.
Impact: A task that used to take 30 minutes now takes nearly 2 hours. My productivity has dropped by 400%.
- Aggressive "Provider" Blocks on Harmless Content
The most frustrating issue is the sudden, arbitrary censorship of images and prompts that were perfectly fine before the branding change.
The Error: I am using the same images and neutral prompts as before, but I am now constantly hit with: "Images blocked by provider."
Nano Banana 2 vs. Gemini (Free):
Freepik (Nano Banana 2): I tried the same task 20 times, and it failed 20 times (0% success).
Gemini (Free Web Version): I tried the exact same image and prompt 20 times, and it succeeded 20 times (100% success).
Inconsistency Across Models:
SeeDream 4.5: Works perfectly with 100% success.
SeeDream 5.0: Only succeeds 1 or 2 times out of 10 (10% success); the rest are blocked.
The Problem: A simple prompt like "Make the background dreamy and beautiful because it looks too much like dark fantasy right now" is now being flagged as "unsafe" on paid models, even when the input image is benign.
- I Can't Understand This "Overnight" Downgrade
I am essentially forcing myself to stay only because of the SeeDream 4.5 / 5.0 unlimited access, but I cannot understand how a professional work environment can be downgraded this drastically and suddenly overnight.
