5 week old puppy dies from pneumonia but was getting better with antibiotics.
Help I need closure please. My 4 week puppy at the time was taken to the vet due to hearing crackling in her breathing. She was still eating/nursing , playing and no fever. Vet said she most likely aspirated during birth and eventually developed into pneumonia. She was given antibiotics and we noticed a difference in her breathing it was much better less crackling and she was even play barking. Yesterday ( Monday ) would have been a week since taking antibiotics
But on Sunday night I heard a weird like cough. Husband and I came downstairs to her and she had collapsed with mucus out of her nose and mouth. We desperately tried CPR and little chest compression but her mouth immediately turned purple and went limp. I’ve been crying for 2 days straight trying to figure out what went wrong , did we not get there fast enough , were the chest compressions not enough ? Please can someone give me some insight.
