Postpartum severe hypothyroidism

Can someone explain to me why my TSH and T4 are WAY out of whack now that I’m postpartum?

I had my first baby 4 months ago. I’ve known for 15 years that I’ve had Hashimotos, but my numbers were never crazy enough to go on medicine for it. Fast forward to pregnancy, still decent numbers, but they put me on levothyroxine to protect the baby. Numbers were great on a small, 25mcg dose the whole pregnancy. I stopped taking it once I gave birth.

My numbers just got checked at 4 months postpartum and… whoa. I’ve never seen numbers quite like this. My doctor seemed concerned. I’m going back on levo at 100mcg.

I asked my doc if being postpartum had anything to do with it and he said usually you get hyperthyroidism postpartum, not hypo. So idk what to think! Has this happened to any of you?
