My 2015 MacBook Pro won’t download anything from app stores, keeps giving error messages.

Ive tried restarting, sign out and in, download any app. I have enough storage. Nothing works

I also cannot update it, it keeps giving error message with that as well.

It’s currently running high sierra and wants Catalina.

I just want to use the thing to play sims 2 and 4 if I can get to update. Hoping not to have to buy a new Mac to do so.

How can I fix this issue?
