What to do about lead dust in baby’s room?
A handyman recently sanded down part of the door of my 10 month old baby’s room because it wasn’t closing properly. Our house is 105 years old, and I’d suggested that lead could be a consideration but he brushed it off / didn’t think it was a big deal.
2 days later, I decided to just get an at home test. Sure enough, the exposed portion of the shaved door is very positive for lead. It’s my baby’s room, but she has been sleeping in our room so fortunately she hasn’t been spending any time in there. That said, there’s light dust all over the floor and I assume there’s lead everywhere. He used a vacuum after shaving the door down, but I doubt it was a hepa filter (I will ask).
What should I do? The internet makes me think I should do a massive deep clean with wet single use rags, an N95, and gloves. Is that right?
