Internal transfer
I came here to ask for advice because, honestly, I don’t really have anyone to discuss this with. I hope you’ll take the time to read this.
I was hired just last week and immediately received my work visa. I’m currently working in the position they offered me, but deep inside, I really want to request an internal transfer to a different department — one that aligns more with my profession, passion, and previous work experience.
Going to a job that you’re not passionate about feels dreadful, and it’s honestly been affecting me a lot emotionally. I wanted to ask if it would be safe or appropriate to open this up with the employer or HR team who hired me, and express my interest in an internal transfer if vacancies become available in the future. (they also transferred someone before so i'm really eager to try)
I genuinely don’t want to come across as ungrateful since I was just hired, but at the same time, I also want to pursue a role where I know I can grow, contribute more, and feel fulfilled in the long run.
