Hii

Looking for someone who writes the way they think unhurried, run on sentences with some actual substance to it. I’m not great at small talk but I’m very good at delving deep into a subject whether that’s about a book, an idea, or something that’s been sitting in the back of my mind for weeks, or months.

I’m a pilot (for fun) living in a walkable neighborhood full of coffee shops, bookstores/libraries and record stores, which tells you most of what you need to know. Currently reading Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin and trying to build the courage to start A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. Lately been obsessed with folk and rock music, and recently started collecting physical media like cds and vhs tapes. There’s something about owning a thing, holding it, that streaming never quite replicates. Slow intentional curation of your likes is such a lost art. My most recent addition is Sade’s Greatest Hits. I also antiques and thrifting, finding items that have had a life before me fills me with a sweet longing for a time I never knew which is odd yet comforting feeling, I also like to think they will outlive me.

I am a travel enthusiast so I am always looking for a new adventure and I am hoping to visit Switzerland this year for my birthday in November! I grew up in Jamaica then moved to the U.S. solo for university and have since moved states from Florida to Ohio and now to Texas. Each place left something on me and I carry them all around. I am very sustainability and eco conscious and I have a masters in Marine Science because I absolutely love the ocean. Overall I have a ton of fun facts about my life to share and hope to learn your lore too lol.

I’d love someone to exchange reading notes with, debate ideas that don’t have clean answers, share what they’re listening to, creating or interested in. I’m looking for depth and I love to learn so teach me something. Send me your favorite everything, music, tv shows, magazines…whatever sparks your curiosity is of interest to me, I want to expand my world view and discover new little niches that I might have otherwise overlooked.

I am super open minded and honest so I’d love to talk about life as well and our individual hopes, dreams and aspirations. I find that most of the underlying values of human connection follow the same principles of wanting to be seen, heard and valued so I’d love to know your avenue toward those things. Also I know I am young but I have so much life experience that I often feel like there’s nothing left for me to do lol so I am willing to engage with those much older than I am. I love to learn from the wisdom accrued through age and time. Invite me into your world.

Bonus points if you have strong opinions about something obscure.
