I think that Satella, despite her few appearances, is a very good character.

I love the way that Satella manages to dominate any scene she's in. When she appeared to Petelgeuse, she turned the high-energy intense scene into a tense one, one of suspense and fear; both from the viewer and the (up to that moment) villain. Satella managing to strike fear into a character who, up to this point in the story, has been unreasoning and erratic, was so cool.

When she appeared at the tea party, Satella made everything and everyone else their attention to her. The frantic feeling of Subaru meeting all the other witches was drowned out by dread as Satella showed up and overwhelmed every other presence there. It's such an amazing scene that shows how Satella is compared to the other witches, while also showing the extent of her influence over Subaru.

I also think that the pure mystery that surrounds her character is another part of what makes her so intriguing. The main things known about her are that she's the strongest witch, she's the one who summoned Subaru and gave him his power, and that she's absolutely in love with Subaru. This means that any new bit of information is just helping to piece together the mystery that is her character. But what is already known makes any appearance or new information all the more intriguing.

I dunno, I think she's cool...

I think all of season 2 is phenomenal, and Ryuzu's character is one of the things that both enhances it, while being a standout part of the season.

Ryuzu's characterization, throughout her different clones, is one of the things that helps to make her so interesting and such a good character. All of the different clones have unique traits that work to make them just unique enough to be their own character while still retaining most of the original Ryuzu's character. They all exhibit different parts of the original's personality, but still hold the value which is so integral to her in the first place; that being protecting the sanctuary. The original Ryuzu's initial sacrifice to properly create the sanctuary was her penultimate act, and set in stone the role of the others to come after her.

Ryuzu's relationship to the sanctuary is truly unique, as it's one of the most foundational motives any character in this series has. The sanctuary, to Ryuzu, is the thing that those closest to her have spent so much time and effort to create and protect. Her mother, Echidna, spent most of her life trying to create it, and in the end it became her final resting grounds. Garfiel, the person Ryuzu has taken care of essentially from infancy, has made it his life's mission to protect the sanctuary.

The sanctuary is both a place where those closest to Ryuzu try to protect, but it's also the place where she gave up her autonomy in order to bring into existence.

I think Ryuzu is a very fun character and a great part of season 2.
