Would Arc 7 & 8 be adapted together? [Spoiler discussion]

As my hype for Arc 6 only escalates, I'm just thinking about the future seasons.

So far I'd say it goes 1>4>2>3 just in how I feel as if Re:Zero is at its best as a psychological thriller/ mystery with the action elements then being the conclusion. There is nostalgia bias for season 1 and I'd say all but 4 have that excellent set up and pay off.

Then looking at arcs 7&8, arc 8 is the payoff to arc 7, being compared more to arc 5 on terms of being more action focused whilst arc 7 is a thrilling exploration of a new country.

I guess arc 8 is too long for a movie, but, action condenses most from written to animation so it feels possible.

Together, it does seem perhaps too long to be a 24 episodes season, so perhaps going beyond that makes sense otherwise?

I feel those arcs were amazing but perhaps less well received due to being a big departure on previous seasons so they'd be the ones I'm most worried about adaptation. Were it to exist, it does seem like the best possibility for a Re Zero movie however which seems more possible as season 4 seems to be bringing Re Zero to new heights.

[Translation] Author's twitter comments on Season 4, Episode 13

Source: https://x.com/nezumiironyanko/status/2090075722803204228

Nagatsuki-sensei's tweets for this week's episode. May contain minor spoilers.

Rough translation:

Yeah! From morning to night! And it's time for Re: Zero! Today, it's the second episode of the latter half of season four! Last time, Subaru and the others saw to the end of the pushing and falling problem, but what will happen now?! Please look forward to it, and join us again today!

It's begun! Last time, they all decided to look for Reid's weakness; we start from there.

A "Book of the Dead" has the subject's cause of death written down, so you could call it a strategy guide. Being weak to fire or weak to water, you're really not going to find that sort of game-like weakness, but you really can't overcome the cause of your own death.

Emilia was downhearted at being called 'chan', but her face lit up when she heard "Nobody says that anymore". Whenever she hears Subaru's turn of phrase, she's all "More, more!".

It's somewhat due to the circumstances around how they were put together, but the Emilia camp in particular has a lot of long-lived characters. Petra being thirteen and Garfiel being fifteen is really wholesome. The truth is those two are only two years apart!

When he asks Julius to hold up, and leaves everyone else to Ram, that's Subaru's judgement on "Who here can make the most appropriate judgement?" based on his experience up until now. It's not about fighting strength, but who can make rational decisions. If it had been Anastasia instead of Eridona, it would have been a different matter.

Out of the chapter names, "That is that, and this is this." was one that I quite liked, but as I've said before, between the first and second halves of the episode, it's easier to use the second half for the episode title... It's rough!

At the point where he used his memory loss as a reason to say that he's never known Julius to lose, you can see the strength of how Subaru thinks, and it's something I like as the author. Forgetting isn't all bad, is what I'd like to say.

Repeating the words of dear Julius-san!

Subaru taking on the possiblity of something bad happening as a result of reading the book is the best choice, in view of the possibility he's already been hit by it, and his effect on their fighting strength...!

With the cape off, you're really showing too much skin now, goof.

"Go ahead and have supper without me" is another from the series of images that include the situation around arc two when he saw Emilia off and said "Watch out for cars, and boys.". It's something he says because he's returned to being Subaru as he was back at the start.

The atmosphere is quite different from Typhon and Meili's "Books of the Dead"; is this serenity Reid's memories...no, it gives a bit of a different impression, right?

Incidentally, arc six's arc title was "Corridor of Memories".

Rui refers to herself as 'we' and 'us'. Incidentally, Rai and Roi's style alternate between 'we' and 'us'. (TL note: Rui's is more feminine, Rai and Roi more masculine) This is an expression of influence of the authority of Gluttony. Just like Beako's "You know" "I suppose", it's a literary representation.

It doesn't need to be said, but neither a little brother nor a little sister have been born.

Rui is scratching fiercely at her arm, but what influence could have left her with this habit?

This is precious look at how he looks in the middle of reading a "Book of the Dead". The truth is the author was wondering about how it goes, too. Going from "It's pro~bably like this" to "Ah, it looks like this!".

This is the Hell's Snipe Shaula uses when she's really, really serious, but if she'd used this when they were on the way, there's a 100% chance they wouldn't have made it to the tower.

When you understand the culprit behind Subaru's memories being erased, you more or less understand Subaru's actions before they disappeared. In short, what Subaru realized yesterday is the same as Subaru today. They thought up the same way to defeat Reid, and ran into the boss here.

Rui is going all-out in provoking him.

...That's odd, there's no commercial...?

The change in Rui's voice here is really good. Isn't it great? Isn't it really great, really?

In truth, memories are difficult. Here, Subaru has lost his memories, but even though it's a short time, it's been rich with experiences, so when talking about whether that will disappear or not, how do you come to a compromise about it? What a cruel thing it is.

Let's be quiet for a bit.

The reason Rui can't see the form or hear the voice or footsteps of who's there is that the "She" that appeared is someone Rui had thrown away because she was getting in the way. The circumstances around that, we'll look at that another time.

"Stand Up" is both the episode title this round, and probably the number one or two thing I wanted to write as part of arc six no matter what. Unlike "Choose Me", which I'd thought up before beginning to write Re: Zero, it's a newly-bloomed point I wanted to write.

The character nature of Sin Archbishop of "Gluttony", Rui Arneb of "Satiation", is "Rerolling life unti it's perfect".

In the corridor of memories, Rui let go of a particular memory. The reason for that is that it felt a tremendously fierce opposition to harming Subaru Natsuki.

I'd like to speak about it a bit more, so I will, but Rui saying this and that to Subaru is, just as she admits, "In order to eat someone again after you've eaten them once (via "Gluttony"), they have to become a truly different being than they were before."; if you can't tell them apart, it doesn't work.

Incidentally, there's a proper answer to the question "Why did he read Reid's book and end up in this weird place with Rui in it?", but it's too early to talk about it, so after a few more episodes, I'll talk about it if I don't forget!

And, after the main story, please don't forget to watch the mini-anime over here! If love was spoken of in the main story, let's speak of love over here as well. ...Isn't love wonderful?

I think you might have realized, even though they looked into the book for a way to victory, not only did they not find one, but now there's all kinds of trouble outside, so the truth is nothing's actually improved. As problems continue at the Pleiades Watchtower, how will it go from here?!

[Discussion] If, in a hypothetical scenario, Subaru's parents had been transported to the world of Re:Zero along with him, how would events have unfolded?

If for some reason Kenichi and Naoko had gone to Lugunica along with Subaru, how do you think things would have turned out?

How do you think the story arcs would have developed? How much would they have changed? Or how would Subaru's parents have gotten along with the other characters?

[Spoiler Discussion] What's going on with the checkpoints?

It's been a thing for a while now that the checkpoints are way shorter, and now Subaru himself is pointing this out.

This being directly acknowledged in-universe means it isn't just a meta decision, so what's going on here?

[spoiler discussion] Regarding the start of the arc

If we assume Roy was saved and not killed, do you think the reason Subaru is being cornered this way is because Roy knows about Rbd?

Qual Subaru seria o PIOR pai?

  1. Orgulho

  2. Ira

  3. Preguiça

  4. Aganau

  5. Ganância

  6. Gula

  7. Azamuku

  8. Sasageru

  9. Luxúria

Qual Subaru seria absolutamente o pior pai? E qual poderia ser potencialmente o melhor?
