Ye olde power cable that makes you hear colours and see sound.
Hello everyone.
I want to know if there is any actual use case for those thick braided power cables with connectors that you have to hammer in the sockets.
From what I was able to read online I learned they are pretty much just for show and sold as a way to squeeze money out of people that don't know better.
However, I have an audiophile friend that swears they are worth their weight in gold. So much so that he makes these cables himself when he needs one or finds materials for good prices* like 100$ plugs that are rhodium or silver plated.
He even told me once that his 60hz monitor runs smoother than a 144hz one because " the eletricity that reaches it is cleaner" and that the image is clearer.
And obviously the sound claims were told aswell. He's a good friend and is really passionate about stuff like this but genuinely believes these cables make a noticeable difference.
Is there any reason to use one of these cables? Any reason at all? Not just for audio or for normal people, I'm even asking if there is an industrial use.
