Had to fix the washing machine and revealed this mess behind the dryer. Yes those are bathtub handles for the hot and cold. Yes that electrical outlet is trimmed to accommodate said bathtub handles. Yes those are plastic bags shoved in the wall. Yes all of this is right next to the fuse box.

My question is should I be concerned about any of this? Seems possibly not up to code but I have no idea. The bathtubs knobs are a... choice, but work fine and I was able to fix the washer and reconnect everything without issue. Located in CO if that makes a difference.
