Baby Chameleon Not Eating

Update!!
Thank you to everyone who helped. I followed your advice and doordashed some tiny crickets and fruit flies. Idk what she went for because so wanted to keep my distance so I don’t stress her, but she ate!! I will check back later to see what’s left. She had many options in there: silkworms, bsfl, fruit flies, crickets, and dubias. I was so stressed about this but I’m feeling confident she will be okay now. I also used an old gallon bottle and some screen tape to make a new feeder for her so she can see what she’s offered. Thanks again!!

This is my new chameleon. She is between 6-8 weeks. On her first day here, she was very stressed and her color was really really dark. I haven’t seen her get to be that color again since she’s been here.

I’ve offered her food off my finger, mainly because I was worried she would see her teeny tiny bugs in the food dish. She politely walked away though completely uninterested.

I’m a little worried because I’m on my third day of having her and she still hasn’t eaten. I have a privacy curtain in front of her cage so she feels more comfortable.

She’s grown up on crickets and silkworms by her breeder. I’m offering her silkworms, dubias, and bsfl.

I originally had the dish she eats out of close to the front of the cage, but I moved it up higher more towards the back in hope that she will eat.

My main questions are what should i do, and when should I start to worry about her lack of eating?

Chameleon Plants Help!

So I got these three plants from lowe’s and just threw them in there. After reading up on it, google says that they need to quarantine for 14 days. Does anyone have experience with this? My 2 month old veiled cham comes on tuesday and I was wondering if it’s worth the risk to keep them in there with new soil and thorough wash or if I really should quarantine them.

Also, if I were to take them out, how much would it stress her/do you think there would be risk for dehydration? The rest of my plants are either cuttings from my own plants or on the ground and I’m not worried about them.

The other thing Google scared me about is the fact that monstera, pothos, and alocasia are poisonous to chameleons. I notice a LOT of people have them though so is it something I shouldn’t worry about?

Chameleon Enclosure Advice.

This is my (almost) finished veiled cham enclosure! I’m very excited. I’m sure it could use more plants but soon these will grow in more.

My boyfriend just needs to attach the door and help me figure out the misting system. I have the J&A one off amazon. I can’t get the tube through the nozzles. If anyone has experience with that I’d appreciate some advice.

Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to maintain proper humidity and temp. I have a smart strip, which allows me to time each device and I bought a gauge that is supposed to maintain the humidity, but my fogger and misting system won’t connect to it for some reason. I can just use the timer on my smart strip but I worry that the levels will go either too high or too low.

Female Veiled Chameleon Enclosure

My boyfriend is almost finished building my cham enclosure. My parents are very concerned about the water destroying our walls and flooring. Any suggestions or advice about that? Is the mist coming through the mesh really something to worry about?

I will 100% be putting in branches, I just need to go get zip ties tomorrow. As for plants, I will be putting way more plants in, too. Most of the plants in there now are cuttings that I have from my own plants. The poor things are all in shock at the moments so excuse the way they look right now lol. also the alocasia in the middle didn’t do well during quarantine…. I’m hoping she’ll come back

The heating lamp and fogger/misting systems will be added in soon. Same with the sand in the laying bin.

I would appreciate any suggestions and tips about anything you can think of! (but i will definitely be putting more plants and sticks don’t worry, i know that’s a big one).

Baby chameleon?

Hello all! I plan to get a chameleon pretty soon. I’ve done a shit ton of research, and my enclosure will be all real plants (cleaned and quarantined) with some sanded down sticks I’ve found and sanitized. I understand the UVB, feeding, temp/humidity, laying bin, supplements, and pretty much everything else I feel like. I’m getting the cage all setup, but I have a couple questions.

One, I plan to get a female that is 2 months old. My enclosure that my bf is building me will be about 2.5ft wide, 5.5ft tall, and 2 ft deep equipped with misters and a fogger. I know that is good for an adult, but will a baby veiled do good in there? If not, I will just go for an older one.

Aside from food size and frequency, I was also wondering if there’s any other specific differences that babies require that I should also know along with any tips you all would like to share with a first time chameleon owner!
