Hi there! I’m fairly new to Reddit and still trying to learn the ropes. I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to say hi to my fellow Gen Xers! We all know there’s no other generation like us!
Now, who has a Chic-O stick for me? 😁

Hi everyone! I was injured at work nearly 3 weeks ago and currently on temporary disability and unable to work. I'd like to connect with others who've gone through similar injuries and can relate to my struggle. I think this is affecting me more mentally than physically, although the pain has been excruciating. I hate the fact that I can't do my normal home routine, cooking, cleaning, showering, lawn care, etc. I mostly hate that I can't workout right now. It's driving me mad! I have all this unexpected time at home now and can't even enjoy it. I can't be on my feet but a few minutes at a time before I'm forced to sit. The pain in my back radiates up and down my left thigh so bad, and it's been numb since it happened. My MRI is scheduled for July 31, but until then all I have is meds; Ibuprofen 600mg, Oxycodone (which I refuse to take anymore), and prednisone! My orthopedic gave me a cortisone injection on Thursday but apparently it takes 3-7 days to fully kick in.
Any advice, or guidance, or even stories would be greatly appreciated right now. I'm just...frustrated!
