Pirate Warrior going to be juicy. Think all of these are wild-playable

cute warrior probably still better, but all of these seem like they slot into a nice pirate aggro deck that goes wide and has some gas for late.

Cannonmaster - great stats, value, and dual tribe to maybe allow some menagerie stuff

Cannoneer - an elven archer, but with pirate synergy and punish for letting it stick. Probably could stand to be a 2/1, though. A little weak

Blastpowder Engineer - Turn 1 double brigand double patches. Turn 2 this. Turn 3 Hozen. GG. What a slap in the face to goldfish decks. Lovely

Follow the Fuse - if the full effect of this is passed on, then this can be a 1 mana deal 6+. If not, then it stinks

Hook n Heave - yeah sure why not

the other class set cards for warrior are too slow

Turn 5 11 mana vs turn 6 exodia combo

Reno mage is pretty OP. kinda weird they nerf boar but not this. guess this is more fun to play with all the random discover stuff. Anyone combo earlier? I’ve lost to an ETC on 5 after a weapon play on 4.

King of the Underbelly Contraband Tier List

Here are all the cards I've tested in King of the Under Belly's Contraband stash. This has been exclusively for use in 30 Reno Hunter, with the aim of meeting some of that deck's needs. There may be cards that are better suited for other decks. I have crafted some garbage legendaries for science.

King of the Underbelly considerations:

  • Cards must be from a non-Hunter class and cannot be Neutral
  • Contraband cost breakpoints: 3, 7, 10, for max-efficiency plays on turn 6, turn 10, and turn 7, respectively
  • Reno hunter needs: Value, Boardswings, Reach, Healing, Tech

Here are some thought about all of the cards in the image. WALL OF TEXT

Da Best

  • Spirit of the Badlands - Great value in slower matchups. Reno Hunter already has lots of great cards that it wants more of.
  • Brilliant Macaw - This can be played to repeat the King's battlecry (randomly), giving another contraband option. Can also be used to repeat any of the OP battlecries in reno hunter like sylvanas, reno lone ranger, loatheb, and so on. A totally valid and possibly optimal use is running 2x this and Spirit of the badlands in the contraband stash so get a 6/5,two 3/3, 3/4, and a mirage on turn 6. This play is good tempo and great value.
  • Felrattler - seems weird, but with serpentbloom or acidmaw, this is another boardclear

Fun & Good

  • Agammagan - Beats Iceblock and some armor stack. Good with reno and kerrigan. A bit expensive for the effect, especially when you have zephrys or ETC for flare/platebreaker.
  • Reanimated Pterrordax - Rush Lifesteal that is probably free. Reno hunter is probably not in the best spot if it needs to play healing on turn 6
  • Tigress Plushy - better than pterrodax - the 1/1 mini can be great with poisonous later.
  • Trenchstalker - hey, is that dinotamer brann for 6?
  • The great dracorex - rarely will you find yourself in a midrange competition, but this is pretty good at that.
  • Ashamane - The slop enjoyer's alternative to Spirit of the Badlands.
  • Spirit of the Shark - You best be ending the game with this on turn 7 if this is the option

Niche

  • Ursol - There are better choices above for board control
  • Mythical Terror - Just run reno jackson if you need healing this badly
  • The 8 Hands from Beyond - Does this let you outvalue Reno Warrior? No. Are there combo decks that haven't won by turn 7 that this bricks? no. Reno Hunter doesn't have a stronger top end than most other slow decks, so this is not it.
  • Qonzu - Bad disruption
  • Mirrex - I got a Deepminer Brann and Eonar with this, but I don't think there's much else you'd want. Spirit is just better.
  • Glugg - Reno Hunter loves going wide and glugg does just that.
  • Seismopod - sometimes you just gotta win through stats

Outclassed & Bad

  • Ursol, so what big spell is reno hunter going to run and be willing to spend 11 mana over 2 turns for? Yeah, exactly.
  • Chameleos - Mysterious Visitor is that way -->
  • Brightfang - not a play you want to be making on turn 6+
  • Razidir - Not disruptive enough
  • Volcoross - Reno Hunter is not generating enough corpses to have this be big at any meaningful point in time. If you want a big smacker, run the Leoroxx combo in XL reno.
  • Copycat - see Spirit of the badlands or Mirrex
  • Archaios - the clears on 6+ don't care if your minions have 6 health.
  • Ceaseless Lavagorger - not included in this tier list, but it shows up with notable usage in stats. In a deck with an average cost of 3-mana, and a top end of 8, this is not getting any value. The ceaseless expanse dream is a complete meme and requires ruinning really bad support cards in reno hunter. Just play warrior.

Any other options people have tried?

I will put my decklist in the comments. 30 Reno has been good for 11x for several months for me. Has a nice matchup spread into the meta with everything feeling playable and about 4 free slots to tweak it into fun archetypal builds like Dragons, Undead, Deathrattle, Wildseeds. Great deck.

Use Lion's Frenzy in your Token DH and stop griefing your deck with Zergs

Please note that the deck image contains an innacuracy as I was transcibing this from my phone to the online deck builder. There should be 2x Wings of Hate and -1 Remnant, -1 Paraglide.

I don't think people realize how stupid OP this deck is. Or if they do, they've been using those bootleg versions that run stuff like zerg location and the 2-mana outcast card. Those card are too expensive and slow the whole deck down while filling your hand with junk. The whole point of quest DH is free stuff and big bois early. (I will concede that both of those cards are good in more board-focused metas).

Zergs and and Security!! always cost mana. Space Pirate is 0 or +1 mana and also 2 bodies with patches. Lion's Frenzy, le piece de resistance, will never be played for its full cost. You can get lucky and discount it with the questline, have a space pirate die for +1, or synthesize mana out of nowhere with a discounted pirate that dies. It's not uncommon to hit for 15 or more damage with the weapon on 3 and 4, while developing a fat board. My record is 21 damage in one swing.

Here is the specific list I am using. This got me as high as top 20 a week ago before I took a vacation in the dumpster thanks to Sawbones. Has there ever been an era of greater elo macro-deflation? (side note: Libram Paladin is hands-down the best deck for cutting through low legend to get back to top 300 or so -- i.e. once reno piles stop working).

Concede vs mage and everything else is a W as long as you don't draw only giants. Mulligan for Sigil, Patches the Pilot, and the portal. Just play aggro and don't blow all your draw if against warrior, warlock, or XL druids. Those are the ones you play for Aranba. Mech Paladin and Priest can highroll with the decpetively simple, insanely fun 15% mulligan hits. The mirror is won by making them draw with Paraglide to deny discounts.

The highlight has been going 36 ticks into fatigue vs a +100 warrior that had gained 300 armor and still overkilling by 300 damage.

Anyone else run a similar list? I think there is maybe one tech slot. I don't think it's worth running something like zephrys or glide to beat mage at its current playrate. I could see stuff like Paraglide and Felosophy coming out in the future if the class gets better cycling options. Accupuncture and Momentum I want to test for more smorc, while the other 1-mana discounters like Fierce Outsider and Illidari studies seem to not get enough consideration by the community at large.

Note for Questline DH newcomers: one of the most important concepts to playing the deck well is getting the most value out of your quesltine activations. It's well-known that drawing, say, 6 cards on the first stage will discount all 6, but with the mega draw that things like broxigar's last stand, parachutes, and feast of souls allow, we can go...even...further...beyond! Completing two questline ticks in one turn will apply the discount of the second completed stage to ALL cards drawn that turn, discounting crazy amounts of mana. This is why it's not the best to just rip a dark bribe on 2 -- you will only get a discount on two cards!

Questline DH:

Bonus EZ Climb Librams:

AAEBAZ8FArjFBdGpBg7dCtjHAp3sAtn+Av24A+u5A9O9BOLTBNaABsG2Bu3fBpLgBpzoBp/oBgAA

Don't run any of the fancy stuff. Just cold feet/rebuke them on the Myrmidon turn and laugh. Showdown beam is useless because the entire meta below 500 is thief priest, and slop warrior/warlock and they don't play minions in the first 4 turns. This deck is dirt cheap and just plain good.

SECRET MAGE EMERGENCY BUFF PACKAGE

Secret Mage has been unplayable filth for far too long. In addition to the obvious Kabal Lackey and Costumed Singer reverts, here are some ideas to bring the deck up to modern standards and MAKE TEMPO GREAT AGAIN.

Some brief comments on each:

Performance Anxiety: Counter anything is worse than counter a specific card type. Trigger in hand is pretty sick. This would be a cool way introduce proactive answers to slop reset buttons while still not coming down too early.

Booty-bound Buccaneer: PIRATE SECRET MAGE. 2+ secret so that it's not a Jailer with Ice Block.

Chronal Mysteries: Punish for decks that ignore secrets and ignore board.

Sidereal Dreamer: The draw that secret mage needs. About equivalent to cards like Aeroponics, Cutting Class, or Spread the Word.

Sneak Peek: Secret Rogue waiting room.

Tome of Madness: RIP Kabal Lackey. This discounts Wisdom.

Prismos: Deckbuilding delimiters are cool.

Bartender Kalec: Ye olde midrange play.

Criticism welcome, but constructive comments only, please. I block scrub noobs. Glory to the Kabal.

Any good combo decks left? Looking for one that doesn’t fold to tech piles.

Is anyone having luck with combos that aren’t super brittle? I would like a proactive choice into the piles of the format that doesn’t require playing 15+ minute games. For as annoying as it was powerful, boar was still nice because it was an actual punish to do-nothings without rolling over to a single dirty rat.

here’s my assessment of the ones I’ve tried in the meta:

Girls/time warp mage: the most fun, but also a good way to get tilted on ladder

Auctioneer Druid: I don’t enjoy combos like this. too binary. mecha thun Druid also falls here. I like that it ends the game for certain, but it’s too brittle.

warsong warrior, ilgy demon hunter -- these are fun but in the “get tick tocked, nerd” category. there a bunch of other fun ones that fall here too. Have not tried Protoss priest yet.

prob going to stick to token DH. Tick tock putting a nasty clock on the format and tempo decks are so bad right now 😭

Justice Demands Interaction! How about a card like this for Wild?

I think wild needs more neutral cards that heavily restrict archetype diversity and deckbuilding choices. This one would be a tech card to beat passive gameplans, rounding out the design trifecta with warmaster blackhorn and Reno Lone Ranger.

please provide your balance feedback. should it be more or less than 10 cards? what about as a start of game effect? Or perhaps it should be a symmetrical effect. I will be submitting this to bluzzard
