Rezum procedure +3 weeks as it relates to ED/Sensitivity
A little update on the Rezum recovery as it relates to ED
Almost 3 weeks post procedure.
The immediate boost in sensitivity that I experienced has lessened a bit. Still more sensitive than pre-procedure. This helps with ED a little.
Since my prostate was about 3x normal size (normal = the size of a walnut - enlarged the size of a lemon or bigger) BPH definitely had negative ED implications. Pressure on nerves and blood vessels as well as always feeling a big lump down there.
Overall erectile response is about 10-15% better, and should hopefully improve over time as the prostate heals and shrinks. 3 months +
Unlikely it will change venous leakage, but inflow might still get better, as I hope will nerve sensitivity as the prostate shrinks further.
I haven't used any ED meds yet, but can sustain a bit better erection standing, without a cock ring. Something I could not do easily before the procedure.
For those suffering BPH
Rezum procedure is known for almost no impact on ED, nor retrograde ejaculation. So far that is holding true for me. Indeed the small improvement in ED was/is unexpected, and hope it continues to get better. I'm feeling positive about it, since the prostate will still shrink much more over time.
Another option is;
Aquablation - also has a potentially low impact on ED. Up to 15% risk of retrograde ejaculation.
Turp/laser - Those that do not already have ED = 10-15% chance ED will worsen. Those men that already have ED issues have a much greater risk of further decline. Retrograde/Dry orgasm = 65-75% of men that have this procedure.
Most, if not all men will experience some level of BPH, so worth getting educated and know your options.
