The mood in many coffee shops is ... not great. Everyone staring down at a laptop, tablet and/or phone. Sometimes more than one at a time. Silence except for the sound of steam behind the counter and music from the speakers (and sometimes not even that). People used to talk in coffee shops. What started out as a place of vibrant, community culture has become a cold, dead place. Thanks for listening.
