Has anyone else experienced this with quetiapine?

I wanted to share my experience because honestly this medication has destroyed my self-esteem, and I want to know if other people deal with the same thing.

I was prescribed quetiapine because I couldn’t sleep and I also suffer from anxiety. Later on, another doctor diagnosed me with ADHD. Ever since I started taking quetiapine, I wake up almost every night feeling desperate to eat sweets and carbs. It feels impossible to control sometimes.

My current doctor doesn’t think the nighttime cravings are related to the medication, but I asked ChatGPT and it said that increased appetite and carb cravings can actually be a side effect of quetiapine.

In about a year and a half, I gained more than 20 pounds. My body changed completely and I even developed gynecomastia from the weight gain, which has really damaged my confidence and self-esteem.

Now I’ve started losing weight slowly by tracking calories, but it’s really hard to make progress when I wake up in the middle of the night craving carbs so intensely.

I’d really like to hear if anyone else has experienced something similar with quetiapine or found a way to deal with these cravings.
