I recently had the urge to make a game. It's something I have been wanting to do but kept giving up. This time, I won't and will force myself to finally do it.

But since the first game I want to try making is going to be a 2D platformer, I wanted to start making the playable character. I am unsure about how the shading works exactly. I would appreciate some feedback about what I can do to improve.
