Nostalgia plays a huge part in it, couldn’t afford one when they were new but they left a big impression on me. Still remember the Jason Plato and Clarkson reviews and every now and then I rewatch them. Back then I loved the sound they produce and the way they look.

Life happened and I kind of forgot about them, as you don’t see that many on the road where I live.

2 weeks ago, on my way home, one went past me and memories came flooding back. I’ve been browsing carsites for one for the last few days and they’re surprisingly affordable. Bought a scalemodel but that only made things worse.

Now I need a red team, to tell me why I shouldn’t get a real one. Maybe ex-owners can tell me why they got rid of theirs ?

Anyway, thought I’d try this forum as I don’t know a single owner IRL. And I did something similar for other cars that I thought about buying and usually the input is valuable . Thanks in advance.

Kind of hard to see, but once you know it’s there, you can’t unsee it.

I was very fortunate to drive the DB12 S and Vantage S.
Gorgeous cars, the pictures don’t do them justice. The sound the exhaust and engine produce, is mouth watering. Interior feels very premium. The Vantage especially was super comfortable. They pull like a freight train. So many good things about them.

But what I was a bit disappointed by, is the ZF 8-speed. It was slow in manual mode (up and down shifts) and I felt a bit underwhelmed by it.

Is it just me or should they be working on a DCT?

Still, I’m going to look at a Vantage S convertible, even with that gearbox it’s an awesome car.

On the one hand, it has a cool story and usually the spec is quite good but on the other hand it generally has had a hard life.

So pulled the trigger. My nephew calls it Pikachu 😅
