Financial Sponsors of the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. What little we know so far…
Paula Froelich has reported that currently just 11 “anonymous” sponsors have committed to support the 2027 Invictus Games compared to 44 sponsors in 2025.
I’m wondering if ISPA Handa will support Invictus 2027? I haven’t come across any evidence indicating that ISPA Handa has committed to support Invictus 2027. Despite withdrawing its sponsorship of Sentebale in 2023*, ISPA Handa did continue to financially support the Invictus Games in 2025 as a “Champion Partner” and served as supporter of “Power of Sport Conversation” on 13 Feb 2025.

*Based on Tom Bower’s recent update to his book Betrayal, we know that ISPA Handa withdrew its financial support of Sentebale. Days after the Sentebale Polo Cup in Singapore in August 2023, the Handa Foundation’s representative Midori Miyzaki had dinner with Sophie Chandauka, Sentebale's Chairman, in New York and informed her that Handa was withdrawing its financial sponsorship.
I’ve come across only two public announcements for financial sponsors for Birmingham:
1) M·E·L Research, a Birmingham-based “social and market research and behavioural insights agency – driven by social value.” This company has developed Market Research Case Studies commissioned by Help for Heroes, the British Royal Legion, and the Armed Forces Covenant Fund….so their motivation appears not to be purely altruistic.

2) Deloitte announced its continued support as an “Official Partner” of the Invictus Games on May 12^(th). According to the company’s press release, “Deloitte will contribute pro bono professional expertise across programme leadership, governance, and cyber, helping to ensure Birmingham 2027 is delivered to the highest standards and provides a seamless experience for competitors, families, and supporters.” The company’s employees will also serve as volunteers.
Will Invictus 2027 be able to add sufficient financial supporters in time to make the event in Birmingham a success? Given recent events (questions raised about the organization's finances, Australia's government ending its financial support, the resignation of the Vice Chairman of Invictus 2027's Board of Trustees), it's looking like an uphill battle.
