The new med-el TICI

I jsut saw a facebook post about the new med-el TICI. it’s a fully implantable device. the only way to turn it off is with a device. I’m not opposed to adults deciding to get it, but I am opposed to any sort of kid being implanted with it. as there are too many parents who would leave it on 24/7 or who would not listen to the kid when they ask for it to be turned off. I already am not the biggest fan of even the removable style cochlear implants (have one but my main issue is parents will punish kids for taking it off and I experienced that growing up). but something that a kid has zero control over? are there any advocacy groups talking about this yet?

WIBTAH if I warned my family to keep an eye on my youngest cousins when my grandpa is at my brothers open house?

My brothers open house is later today. My mom’s cousins traveled from another state to be here ti help her out. I grew up with their kids and their kids are my ’cousins’. My grandpa raped me when I was younger. I omly recently in January started to remember. The memories came back randomly. I was in the shower at school thinking of my plans for spirit week and it came back full force. it has specific details and such that make me positive it is real. I’ve also always never really liked this grandpa. I mean, this is the same one who once pinned me to the counter two years ago in 9th grade because I wasn’t doing chores. like I remember being terrified of him when he cane into my room once when he was watching me and my siblings as my parents were on vacation. He was only checking on me and left rgiht after, but like I remember being terrified.

Now to the conflict. My brother invited my grandpa to the open house. He knows what my grandpa did to me. Apparently, my mom told him. (that’s a whole other issue. I’d told her I was willing to tell my siblings, but that I wanted to do it and if she felt she had to tell them, she needed to tell me. She didn’t tell me she told them, and she told them a few weeks ago apparently.). Yet he still invited my grandpa to come to his open house for his high school graduation. I have a bunch of cousins ranging from 4-15 here. WIBTAH for telling them, as it could ruin the graduation party? I think one of my moms three cousins know, but I don’t know if the other two do as well. If they do, I’m worried that itll be me making a big deal out of it for nothing and I will be making all this drama for nothing

(Also, I will be gone when my grandpa is there. My mom had the decency to at least make sure that I wouldn’t be there when my grandpa is so I am being picked up from my brothers open house an hour and a half earlier by my dad (divorced parents) and we will go see a movie or something)
