I got hired with the VCL as a social science specialist (crisis responder). I start on Monday. I'm in a bit of a jam. My current job (which I'm seriously considering quitting) doesn't pay enough. Hence, why I accepted the VCL role. However, I'm behind on my May rent & now facing eviction. I literally got paid from the other job today & it's not enough to pay what I owe. I want to know when I can expect to receive my first paycheck from the VCL if my start date is 5/18/2026? My thinking is I can use the money from the current job as I'll get paid again on 5/29 and then use the paycheck from the VCL to pay what I owe for May rent and hopefully June's as well. I know this is a risky plan but I'm limited on options right now. Please advise thank you!

I'm requesting $800 to help cover the remainder of my rent. My elderly mother fell recently and broke her ankle. Due to unexpected medical expenses this ate into some of my rent. I can repay $850 on 05/29. My job is enough to cover the payback plus the $50 is interest / good faith. The paycheck on 05/29 is an extra check due to the leap year / payroll schedule.
