Door Dashing Mulch/Flowers
I just have a small PSA to make. STOP DOORDASHING MULCH/SOIL/FLOWERS.
I cannot express how sick I am of seeing this on a daily basis, especially now that spring is in full swing. Everyday, I have way too many DoorDashers who have no idea what is on the order, they just need to get it to the buyer to get paid. The looks of horror on these poor people's faces when they realize they need to fit 25 bags of cheap Sta Green Mulch in their 2011 Carolla is disheartening. They have no plan, no clue how they're going to get all of that Mulch in the car. Not to mention, the cheap dye leaks everywhere and will literally ruin the interior of the car permanently.
As for the flowers, the garden center receives hundreds of flowers almost nightly. Our inventory doesn't stay up to date on every single one, so there is no real tracking for specific flowers. So when I am on powered equipment, or trying to refill our stock, it is incredibly difficult to explain to dashers that the only way for them to find a flower is to look through each table and hope that we have it. It's incredibly time wasting for these workers, who lose money with each minute wasted, and it's time wasting for employees who are trying to keep the sales operations running smoothly. Not to mention, dashers don't really care which flower they pick as long as it's the right one. Employees are sick of getting phone calls about dashers picking a "dead" or "sick" flower.
So here's what I will leave you with. Get out of your house and shop for your own dirt instead of making a single mother of three pick it up for you. I get it, I don't want Mulch in my nice car, so I NEVER put Mulch in my nice car. Lowe's has delivery services. The store can bring things to you if you can't (or won't) pick it up. If you really must doordash these filthy products, you better be prepared to tip your dashers well. I'm talking $100 so you can cover the interior clean up their car will need.
Doordash and Instacart need to stop letting people order from Lowe's so it quits clogging up our daily operations.
