Couple of dumb questions, but I wanted to hear from people who actually work at Lowe’s. I have an interview coming up for a Merchandising Service Associate position. I read the job description, but I know jobs don’t always end up being exactly what they’re presented as on paper.
Can anyone tell me what the position is actually like day-to-day and what’s realistically expected of you?
Also… what should I wear to the interview? (Sorry, I didn’t have a dad to teach me this stuff. 😭 lmao)
I fucking hate this. I fucking hate the fact that every aisle is covered in cameras designed to monitor customers and likely (more like obviously) associates too. I hate that theyre pushing mylowe so fucking hard knowing that it's an openai project requiring data centers that are fucking over every living thing around them. I hate management being spineless and bending over any time corporate decides to fuck everyone. I hate not having enough associates to actually cover departments and I hate that our training is so Dogshit that we're being pushed to use a fucking chatbot. I fucking hate this. I'm Sooooo sure that the cameras covering every inch of the store aren't ever going to be used against people. I'm sure that ai designed to recognize humans won't ever be used against anyone ever. maybe if Lowe's paid people more people would give a fuck about doing their job right. we're fucking fodder.
Hypothetical question here: If I were to find another job and give a two week notice to leave on good terms, what happens to my accrued time? Do they pay out any of the vacation, holiday and sick time? I have 60 hrs vacation, 30 hrs sick, and 14 hrs holiday. Am I going to loose all that?
Selling installs or prosales and we are selling items into negative as they are stock items and on way. Fulfillment refunds the items as we currently do not have stock and clear from their system. They said policy they can’t have unfulfilled orders pending.
Whats the procedure on this? They said they aren’t suppose to leave pending orders. Isn’t there a way to push out? Installs usually we are waiting on special order stuff to come in. Something is missing in this process. Please advise
Are there any other employees that have a similar experience with the Kolorscape rock?
Can I return a ceiling fan? We installed it and it initially didn't work. But then we found a button on the remote that needed to be switched. But turns out it's way too small anyway. Thanks for the input.
I’ve been working at Lowe’s for about a month now on the overnight lumber team. Most nights I’m working by myself, although sometimes I’m paired with someone who doesn’t really help much.
Yesterday I was told I can’t wear my headphones anymore because they’re a safety issue. Instead, I was told I could buy a Bluetooth speaker and play my music that way.
I asked my supervisor, “How is a Bluetooth speaker not a safety issue, but headphones are?” I didn’t really get an answer that made sense to me.
I’m the only person overnight in my department who’s trained to operate the equipment, so I’m trying to understand what specific safety risk my headphones create. It’s not like there are multiple machines constantly driving around my area that I have to watch out for.
On top of that, I’ve been wearing my headphones for the past two weeks and nobody said anything until yesterday. I also regularly see other overnight associates in different departments wearing headphones or walking around with them. has anyone else been through this and how strict are they about it
Our store cut everyones hours then last minute scheduled people to work 4th of July weekend. With no holiday pay or benefits ofc people called out en masse including myself. Store is a mess and half the stuff is out of stock.
How are yall's stores going this weekend?
Is price match available at all stores? I went to the service desk with a copy of a HD deal and after asking about a price match, I received an eye roll. She then stated they don't match online prices. I told her it was a copy of the add and showed her on my phone that Lowe's did match Amazon, just not 3rd party sellers. She then stated that this store does not do price match. Is this true or was she being lazy.
Me and other cashiers are either never getting any breaks or we are getting our lunches/breaks at the end of our shift.
We have told our DS and ASMs/SM already.
Does anyone know the corporate phone number to anonymously tell someone in HR?
I should also say that our state labor board is also being notified...
Does anybody from that store know any more about this that you care to share?
Guys i love working at lowes so much. I love it when they promise to give me more hours, then schedule me just four 4hr shifts for an entire 2 weeks like i don’t have bills to pay !! I just loooove when i get assigned to work in departments i’m not trained to work in and then get yelled at when I don’t know how to do something (Got asked to mix paint from a customer, i work ISLG and when i asked an ASM for help i got in trouble). i love it when i get yelled at for not doing training then getting yelled at again when i ask for time to do it. i just LOVE having grown men yell at me over some bs that i genuinely couldn’t care less about. i love how everything in here made me hate my job when i used to love it so much. anyways, just got asked to come in for training for another job that pays me $3 more per hour, actually plans on giving me FULL TIME HOURS, and seems like smt i would actually enjoy. i ❤️ lowes tho i swear
i just got to work and i'm here again in lumber alone now for a whole week straight the one guy here said he's been here for hours and haven't done anything because there wasn't any customers needing lumber can i just clock out or will i get fired
I am in the process of going from full-time to part-time because I realized my daughter will never be this age again and all I do is work and then get her so she can then sleep. I am wanting more children and I do want to stick with this company at least for the near future and that’s why I’m wondering about the benefits for part-time when they are on leave.
We’re good on money seeing as my husband is a coal miner but I’m just wondering so I can prepare in the event of me getting pregnant again.
Hey you’re not a pro nor an amateur if you can’t look at the wood and already tell what the fuck the measurements are. It’s all fucking standard. Yall stupid as fuck.
so everyone knows schedules come out 3 weeks ahead. and sometimes we’re asked to pick up shifts. if my manager added a shift to my schedule without asking or telling me on the 1st for today. is it bad if i call off or no call. sorry i’m new so idek it’s usually headcashier that asks me if i can come in
