Was fired letting the laundry out to dry.

Was fired today 1:05pm from lowes, I was a sales specialist. I worked with Lowe’s from four years ago as of the 18 of June, I used my college degree in graphic design and color theory to help customers pick the right flooring for their homes. The reason for me being fired? Not meeting expectations, being away from my department with no coverage, department kept in an uncleaned state. Here’s the thing, I know how to run the panel saw, key cutter, the carpet cutter, the blind cutter, the wire cutter, Star Wars, blue lift, forklift certification always passed each year. Guess what I’m getting at is I was always called to help around the store to help customers and reliable. When I was pulled into my monthly sales review it was always you need to help out other departments, then when I do it’s your spreading yourself to thin. I always busted my ass for Lowes, to help customers even when they would treat me like dirt and lie about their experience FOUR YEARS OF MY LIFE, MY HEALTH, MY FUCKING SANITY! Given just to be told I failed to meet expectations after giving me a four years badge that they just gave me as of the same day I got fired. Lowes you are the shadiest, crooked, scum of the earth to exist as a company and for the few higher ups who browse the internet and stumble upon post like this? Do better.

I’ll never forget the time…

I helped a methed out tweaker load 300lbs of mulch in the back of her Nissan Altima and her suspension screeching as she left.

Her kid was in the car.

“I asked her do you have a truck?”

She said “I’m door dashing this to a customer.”

My jaw was on the floor. I checked the door jam and told her that the weight exceeds the maximum rating for her car and she did not care.

They should start using pictures of the door dashers instead of Lowe’s delivery trucks for their marketing material because those are the morons delivering your shit 🤣

Imagine ruining your only vehicle for $7.66

Lowe’s stock performance vs S&P

Since Marv E became CEO in 2018 Lowe’s has underperformed the S&P by 69%. Simple math, you’d have $261 on a $100 investment in Lowe’s vs $330 in the S&P. It’s time the BOD kicks him to the curb, all the institutional investors should call for his ouster. New leadership and ideas are needed and Marv isn’t smart enough or aggressive enough to lead this company. Some or all of the BOD need to go as well for facilitating this poor performance. This company belongs to shareholders. Enough is enough.

AI scheduling might be my last straw

I work part time as a lumber cashier. I’m retired from my career and I work 2 whole days and 1 half day for spending money. Well AI scheduled me today, and I was given 32 hours over 5 days, including a day I asked off for in order to go to a surgeon appointment for my husband. What is everyone else’s experience? If they will not work with me, I will head somewhere else for my spending money!

Lowe’s massive failure in charging credit cards and no one cares

**I placed a $5,000+ order for multiple appliances**. Lowe’s installation department puts a credit card hold while they wait to order the product.

So the first time they put the hold on my card (the only one I use) **four times for the total amount of the appliances.** (Yes, this happened more than once.)

I attempted to resolve this, primarily concerned they would deliver four refrigerators and other appliances. I finally got some dude in India to transfer me to installation.

I told them **Lowe’s was hitting my card with tens of thousands in “pending” charges** which triggered fraud alerts and locked down my credit card (rightfully so).

No one cared this was happening except my credit card company. I could not get escalated to management and the install rep was an a*hole. They told me it would “renew” in 3 to 7 days and assured me it would only be for the amount of the order.

**I then got hit with almost $40,000 in pending charges for the hold which was more than the limit on the card.**

Yeah, my only credit card that I use for every purchase everywhere. I couldn’t dispute it because it was showing as pending. I now have to jump through all kinds of hoops to even access my card account because of the recurring fraud trigger.

They told me I would have to wait up to ten days for the pending charges to clear and there was no way to remove them. They didn’t seem to give a sh*t I was locked out of my only credit card. I got the same scripted response repeated to me over and over again.

So here’s the worst part.

Each time I asked the rep if they understood Lowe’s was getting flagged as fraud and there was clearly someone running through multiple authorizations which could be, you know, actual fraud.

**Does Lowe’s not think this indicates a massive problem in their install system and maybe, just maybe management, IT, fraud or accounting might need to know this?**

The way they handled this had me concerned they would try to pass through $40,000 or even more in charges and I would be stuck trying to fix it with their horrendous customer service department.

I cancelled the entire order after they had already scheduled the installs because I spent three hours getting zero help. **I can’t believe that no one in management cares about this obvious massive credit card problem.**

I celebrate their impending demise because there is no way this level of ineptness and disregard surrounding potential fraud can continue.

New employee quits

We tried two new PT associates to work seasonal. Did all their training, ready to go. One of them quit on his 2nd day stating that 6-10p wouldn't work for him, and that they thought it was more of a sales position. I understand people can change their mind- I just feel like they were not vetted. What an entire waste of payroll hours just to train them to quit.

update, schedule 6-10

Flock Cameras Lowes Corporate Campus

Recently noticed Mooresville campus has flock cameras installed near entrances, why does corporate feel that this level of employee surveillance is necessary (with all the existing cameras)?

Flooring associates

Do any of y'all think about the amount of silica dust particles we breathe in, and also about the complete lack of concern by our employer about it?

This is especially true of those of us that sweep the grout and mortar aisle on a regular basis, and for the full-timers that have been here a while. It's ever-present in the air in and around flooring.

A little research will tell you about the dangers of it (silicosis) and the damage to our lungs that can occur.

Call out

I’m sorry just gotta rant, how does a doctors note not clear a call out, I’ve never worked at a place that didn’t excuse that with a doctors note, I’m literally throwing up but nope still gotta come into work. And six call outs a year only? Seriously? Makes no sense to me!
