Hey guys so I just have a quick question about my attendance. For background info, I uber to and from work and I live by 5 different schools so it’s always traffic around the time I leave for work. The other week I was called in a meeting about my attendance and I was told I was late 5 times within the month of September and I should try to be more punctual, okay fine. So I was late so far in twice since October started. Will that be a write up or I don’t get written up until I receive 5 tardies?

For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE buy a protection plan when you buy a major appliance. If you don’t buy the protection plan, congratulations you now only have 48 hours to return your appliance if something happens and if you need it repaired you have to deal with the manufacturer. There is only so much we can do when you come in past the 48 hours to ask for help.

A DS who just had to deal with an asshole who didn’t buy a protection plan and then got pissed because I couldn’t magically send someone out to fix his 60-day-old fridge. By the way, that doesn’t mean we don’t “stand by our product” it just means we aren’t a free repair service. Also, we can’t help if Frigidaire sent us a lemon. Shit happens.

I started as a PRO Sales Specialist 6 months ago coming into the position 3 months into the year, with my only prior experience being sales (I knew basically nothing about construction and had a very basic understanding of lumber and building materials) I have nearly half a million in sales now and over 45 credit card apps. (Which is huge for my store as the person below me in credit apps has only 13 and the two people above me are only ahead by 10 or 20ish cards and had a 3 month head start)

For all intents and purposes I THINK I’m doing relatively okay, but I’m constantly being passive aggressively threatened to be written up for not meeting sales goal. The other two associates next to me have nearly 20 years of combined experience in PRO and construction and selling and are both on track to hit or nearly hit 2 million in sales.

I haven’t pushed back on managements sly comments that boil down to “We aren’t going to write you up just YET” because they haven’t officially written me up for “lack of performance” but I think it’s ridiculous to compare me to my more experienced associates and expect me to produce as much sales as them in the short amount of timeframe I’ve been here.

Oh did I mention that I received basically none of the formal weeks long pro training and basically had to learn on the fly from watching my coworkers and the comments about performance started ONLY 3 MONTHS into my position?

To reiterate I feel like for someone who only started a little less than half a year ago, 3 months into the year, for me to have over 45 cards and half a million in sales is good and it’s a load of crock that I’m getting pressured to perform at a level that can really only be achieved with time or with an insane amount of volume going through the store (which we do NOT have)

Am I right to feel this way????

Currently Timberland boots with steal toe with Timberland anti-fatigue hexagon insoles. Every week within the 4th day in a row I feel like I got hit by a truck. I think its the floors sending shockwaves throughout the body all day. Is it the steal toe weighing me down? As soon as I am out of that store and go home and take a shower all pains leave the body.

What shoes or boots with composite/steal toe will not make me feel like I am walking in quicksand on the 4th and 5th day in a row of working? Is there a sole or pair of socks I should be aware of? Or perhaps its psychological hate of the job.

Im willing to spend like $300. I am looking for maximum comfort that will stop body pains and with enough safety that a box could fall on my toes and there is no injury.

I am fairly new to DIY and I’m trying to add shelves to my pantry. I found a long melamine board which needs two cuts to fit my requirement.

What are my options? I chose a 96 inch board to do a 45 inch and 38 inch shelf. The closest that I could pick is 48 inch which would still need a cut.

I'm a flooring specialist. In my six months since I joined the department, I've never missed my weekly SPH. This week, I am. By a lot. Which is crazy because I was actually so busy helping customers one day that I never stopped moving. They were just smaller transactions. And yesterday our store manager gave flooring so much to do that I couldn't even focus on sales the last half of my shift. I probably wouldn't feel so stressed about not meeting SPH if my store manager didn't think that the flooring department isn't meeting expectations. Two other specialists in the store also aren't going to meet SPH this week if today doesn't change. It's been really slow.

Is anyone else struggling to meet their SPH this week? I feel so worried.

Finally decided to take advantage of this benefit on the health insurance. I’m older and was looking for some exercises to hopefully ease those aches that have accumulated throughout the years. After a month, it has helped a lot to follow the suggested exercises. Lowe’s is far from perfect but this benefit is really good. Plus the freebie gifts like a yoga mat and Stanley mug was cool.
