Protection Plans

Customers:

For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE buy a protection plan when you buy a major appliance. If you don’t buy the protection plan, congratulations you now only have 48 hours to return your appliance if something happens and if you need it repaired you have to deal with the manufacturer. There is only so much we can do when you come in past the 48 hours to ask for help.

Sincerely,

A DS who just had to deal with an asshole who didn’t buy a protection plan and then got pissed because I couldn’t magically send someone out to fix his 60-day-old fridge. By the way, that doesn’t mean we don’t “stand by our product” it just means we aren’t a free repair service. Also, we can’t help if Frigidaire sent us a lemon. Shit happens.

Potential Suitor for Cotton Candy Randy?

I honestly wasn’t sure what flare to use here, buuuuuut we just got this in at Lowe’s for Halloween and I couldn’t help but think of our favorite cotton candy bearded weirdo. Do we think he would be attracted?

Departments splitting

If a big department splits into two smaller departments, is it common for the parent department to overshadow the new one? I’m the DS of a department that split off from a bigger one and the DS of my parent department has viewing access to my CSAs’ training and performance reviews, so I can’t see any of it. I’m just trying to make heads or tails because I can’t help but feel like most of my role and the split itself are pointless if I can’t see that stuff. I kinda feel like I’m just a key holder at this point.

Caremark?

I have Credence BCBS through my work and last year I had to switch plans because they got rid of the one I had. My new plan includes CVS Caremark, so I switched from Walmart to CVS for my prescription. But, now my prescription costs more than it did at Walmart. Can someone ELI5 why? I think I could pay for it out of pocket and be paying the same amount of money (it’s generic). I tried reading through my plan and benefit info, but I just got more confused. TIA

OPE Keys and Manualz

Hi friends. I am the ISLG DS at my store and I was wondering how you guys organize/store your OPE keys? We were keeping ours behind customer service in the fulfillment area until we got told they had to be in top stock. So, now they’re in the first bay of one of my seasonal aisles. We have them in clear totes organized by brand but that’s it. They’re just thrown into the totes. And, some of the totes are actually sitting on top of sellable merchandise because the top selling beam is set at a high elevation. So, how do you guys organize your OPE keys? I need ideas/suggestions. TIA
