Hi all. Just a question re how rotations are allocated at ST4+ in group 1 specialties. I live in the south-west in a deanery which is quite large, but I live in the extreme edge of the deanery and nowhere near the major city which most trainees tend to gravitate towards. I guess I’m asking whether TPD’s tend to try and honour rotation location requests and whether me requesting the non-popular locations will likely be accepted? I’m looking at a specialty where there won’t be any compulsory tertiary hospital rotations, but being sent to the major city would be completely incompatible with my family. If TPD’s aren’t on the accommodating side I will look into portfolio pathways. TIA.
