Anyone add a hands free tailgate to non hybrid?
I see the hands-free access power tailgate is a feature only available on the CRV Sport Touring Hybrid. Has anyone added it to a non-hybrid? I have a 2026 ICE CRV EX-L and I’m wondering how involved that would be.
I spoke to someone who removed theirs from a 2026 model to add a trailer hitch and he said he just removed the bumper, unclipped the sensor from the hiring harness and popped it out.
In a non hybrid is that wiring harness already there as part of the remote open or does it have to be wired in? And does the sensor sit outside the bumper or would a hole need to be drilled for it?
