How do I handle an overly insecure friend?
Me, a 30f and my friend a 23f, have been friends for about a year now. We met at work that had recently closed and have hung out a few times since then.
She is wildly insecure, always says sorry about things and gets very panicky if I don’t reply to her messages right away. She’ll unsend messages for whatever reason and very much over things everything I say or do. If I don’t text all day long, she’ll message asking if she gave me the ‘ick’. Theres been a few times it’s gotten on my nerves because I can only say ‘everything is fine’ so many times 😅 I hate getting to the point of getting snappy because I feel like I’m just repeating myself over and over again. The last thing I want to do, is be mean or a bitch.
It’s beginning to deter me from hanging out with her at all. She’s just far too clingy for my comfort and I just need her to relax and not be so anxious about things. Especially our friendship.
