Working at staples?
I applied and scheduled an interview for staples and decided to come on reddit to get an idea of what exactly a seasonal retail associate does. But basically I’ll i’ve seen on this sub is everyone saying it’s a terrible time working there! Is this really true? Every time I got into my local staples it’s always pretty empty and quiet like it’s only me and somebody else shopping so I initially thought it would be a pretty chill job. Do other staples stores just get way busier than mine? But to ask what I was going to ask: what exactly does a typical work shift look like as a seasonal associate? Are you actually expected to make sales and be knowledgeable about things like printers and such? I have experience in food service cashier positions and quick customer interaction but anything that breaks out of that script too much can really leave me fumbling pretty. Are there associates who do not do sales?
