Gurgaon has plenty of events. Real community still feels rare.
Over the last year, we tried a bunch of Gurgaon social events/clubs: Misfits, ATF, and a few others. Some were genuinely fun, but we always left with the same feeling:
It felt like loneliness had become a market.
Everywhere you look, there’s a ticket attached to meeting people. ₹499 mixers, ₹999 socials, “curated communities,” etc. And honestly, I get it, organizing spaces costs money. We’ve been running community experiences ourselves for the last few months, so we know it’s not easy.
But somewhere along the way, basic human connection started feeling transactional.
Because real friendships usually happen slowly, sitting around after office hours, talking nonsense, sharing hyperfixations, playing dumb games, seeing the same people enough times for comfort to happen naturally.
And we realized we missed that a lot.
So we started something tiny called The Happy Hour Club: small after-office hangouts with no networking pressure, no alcohol, and no fee. Just good people and low-pressure evenings.
10-12 people max. Come solo or bring a friend.
We’re intentionally trying to design this so the community side stays free forever, because “having people around you” shouldn’t feel like another subscription.
Curious if other people in Gurgaon feel this too.
