Need Advice

I will be joining Florida State University (FSU) as an international graduate student from Fall 2026. My wife will accompany me on an F2 visa.

As many of you may know, F2 visa holders cannot legally work in the US, so I’m a bit worried that she may feel bored or isolated having too much free time. Back in our home country, she was very active — she studied and also ran an online pastry and baking business from home.

I would really appreciate suggestions from people in similar situations:

What do F2 spouses usually do in their free time?

Are there any courses, volunteering opportunities, clubs, or community activities they can join?

Can she continue learning baking/pastry skills in some way?

Are there any restrictions regarding online businesses or hobby-based activities for F2 holders?

We would especially love to hear from other international couples at FSU or in the US in general. Thanks in advance!
