27F from Ukraine how do you make long-distance connections feel genuine?

Hi, I’m Anya, 27, from Ukraine. I’m curious how people build meaningful long-distance connections without rushing things. I enjoy games, sports, and deep conversations more than small talk. I can seem reserved at first, but I open up quickly when I feel comfortable.
What helps you keep communication honest and stable over distance?

Why do some people suddenly disappear from everyone for days or weeks even when they actually like their friends?

In my view, many people simply run out of social energy from time to time. It isn’t necessarily due to depression or feeling hurt. Sometimes a person is tired, feeling lost in life, overwhelmed by their thoughts, or simply wants to ‘step back’ from the world for a while. This happens particularly often when there is uncertainty or stress in their lives.
