New M-ATX Build
Hello All!
I have been mulling over whether to build a new PC for about a year now, and, well, my GPU decided for me. This time, I was looking to downsize from a regular tower to about half the size of my current one (Phanteks P400a).
- New build or upgrade?
- New build, but open to reusing parts from current PC
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16
- PSU: RM750 Gold
- MB: MSI MPG X570 Gaming PRO Carbon WiFi Motherboard (AMD AM4, DDR4, PCIe 4.0, SATA 6Gb/s, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, AX Wi-Fi 6, HDMI, ATX)
- Monitor: LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
- Primarily gaming. Mainlt play single player games. Would like to handle games such as Jedi Survivor/Fallen Order, GTA V/VI, Ananta/Endfield, WWZ, Modded Minecraft (ex: All The Mods), FIFA/EAFC.
- Apps: Solidworks, Matlab
- Would like to run these games at 1440p 144FPS.
- Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)
- USA, Microcenter nearby
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
- N/A
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
- 2-2.5K USD
- WiFi or wired connection?
- Wired
- Size/noise constraints?
- Looking for MATX but open to building in current case.
- Color/lighting preferences?
- No preference
- Any other specific needs?
- Would I be able to start with the GPU purchase and use it for my current setup as I gather the other parts? Could I stick with my current RAM and just buy another set of 16gb DDR4 instead of paying a premium for DDR5?
