Anyone with high aluminum, homocysteine, and ferritin levels, and low morning cortisol and B12 levels in their blood tests?
Hi, I’m not 100% sure I have IBS, but I’ve had symptoms since childhood.
For most of my life, I genuinely believed everyone felt like this, and that I was just “weak” for not being able to handle it or function normally.
My symptoms are mainly:
* abdominal discomfort/pain (sometimes burning or pressure)
* strong physical anxiety and irritability that seem to come from my gut
* sensitivity to food (hard to predict triggers)
* improvement when fasting or after bowel movements
* episodes where my whole body feels “off” (fatigue, sensory sensitivity, even pain in other areas)
I’ve done multiple exams over the years (imaging, standard blood tests), and everything always came back normal.
Recently, I did a more extensive blood panel, and for the first time, some abnormalities showed up:
* Homocysteine: 20,22 μmol/L
* Cortisol (morning): 7,50 μg/dL
* Vitamin B12: 445 pg/mL
* Ferritin: 344,00 ng/mL
* Aluminum: 33,4 μg/L
I’m still trying to understand if this is IBS, something metabolic, or some kind of gut-brain axis issue.
Has anyone here experienced something similar, especially:
* gut symptoms strongly affecting mood/anxiety/irritability?
* high homocysteine or low cortisol along with GI symptoms?
I’d really appreciate hearing similar experiences or directions to look into.
