Product Design Master in Spain - Madrid (UPM) vs Valencia (CEU)

Hi everyone,

I’m an Italian student with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. Even though I studied engineering, I’ve always been drawn to industrial design. After working for a year in the mechanical sector, I finally decided to pursue a Master’s in product design.

I chose Spain because of the university costs, the climate, and the overall good reputation of its institutions. I’ve been accepted into two programs:
– the Master’s in Industrial Design Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM)
– the Master’s in Product Design at CEU Cardenal Herrera in Valencia.

I’m now trying to decide between the two. Beyond the obvious difference (one is public and the other is private), I’d really like to hear from anyone who has attended either program or know something about them. Since I come from an engineering background, I’m specifically looking for a program that will help me build stronger creative, aesthetic, and conceptual design skills, areas that weren’t really part of my mechanical engineering degree.

If you also have other universities or programs in Spain worth recommending, feel free to share them.

Thank you in advance! 😄

Product design master in Spain - CEU Cardenal Herrera vs Universidad Politecnica de Madrid

Beyond the obvious difference (one is public and the other is private), I’d really like to hear from anyone who has attended either program. I’m especially interested in advice from people who, like me, come from an engineering background and wanted to develop more creative and aesthetic skills, areas that were missing from my mechanical engineering degree.

If you also have other universities or programs in Spain worth recommending, feel free to share them.

Thanks in advance!
