I can either go the short-term rental route with bonus depreciation OR have my spouse quit to pursue REP status. Both seem to offer significant tax benefits but require different commitments. For those who've done the analysis, which route made more sense for you financially?

One concern with REP status is the 750-hour documentation requirement. How do people actually track that without it becoming a part-time job itself?
