Finally was able to adjust colors on 45GX950A-B (quick guide)
This monitor comes with heavy dark inky colors and I was trying to make it more vivid like other OLED monitors, So I've been dabbling with the settings for 2 days, and I finally got it. These are for HDR mode:
Monitor settings:
- Game Mode Gamer 1, Black Stabilizer 70, Brightness 100, Peak Brightness High, Sharpness 50. Color Temp Medium.
Explanation: Gamer 1 I think is better than Gamer 2 because Gamer 2 is so heavy in colors and has too much exaggeration. Gamer 1 works better with some tweaking. Black Stabilizer 70 is what make the colors more vivid because at 50 is what makes the colors so dark, also I think more than 70-75 is what makes the blacks closer to IPS, so I think this is the breaking point. Color Temp Medium this I think matches Manual C3, and if you want even more vivid colors do C4, but it starts to be more bluish overall
Windows settings:
- Download Windows HDR Calibration: just follow the instructions then it will save a color profile which you can find in the display settings (right click then display settings)
- HDR settings: mostly gonna be preference. Type in HDR in the search and adjust the SDR brightness. For gaming, 50-75 is fine. For browsing 35 is good enough.
Happy gaming guys 😄
