Just scored the new LG 45-inch 5k2k at Best Buy as an open box model for $1,000. I actually bought it in excellent condition, open box, but then when they tried to give me the wrong one and couldn't find the right one, they decided to give me a brand new one right off the shelf, which was super cool
Had dual 4K monitors before so I think this is quite the upgrade and I've actually noticed that it's a little bit cooler in my office now too.
The one thing I'm not super impressed with is that it seems to crush blacks. Anybody have any tricks for getting a little bit more detail in the shadows?
As title suggests. I have a halfway done app that works for my needs. Currently it uses a fixed grid that I can specify the number of rows and columns and there is no spacing and it just works.
Is there anything already that you use that has exactly what you need? If no, what are you using and which feature are you missing?
Before having to pay the developer fee, I really want to get some feedback from you and maybe clean the app up and publish it with the feature sets that are the most sought after.
This looks like a really nice pick at $854 for the Samsung G93SC OLED. I'm looking to upgrade from my 1080p 21:9 LG, and since there aren't many options when it comes to high resolution, high refresh rate 32:9 OLED monitors, G93SC seems like the best option for me at this price. Do you think I should go for it?
The immersion is on another level.
I've had it sitting here. And I have combed the manual multiple times and I cannot find mention of it. I also cannot find anything when looking up the barcode so I am at an utter loss as to what this is for
Hi.
I'm getting this really faint flickering recently on G9 Neo.
You can briefly see it in the video I posted. Has anyone had this issue and found a fix?
I've updated G9 recently. I've tried a few things but nothing seems to have worked thus far.
Hi,
I do play some competitive games so Im sure I will enjoy the extra refresh rate.
But refresh rate aside, I'm not sure how much of an upgrade this would be.
What do you guys think?
Thanks!
I work maybe 5-10 hours a week from home so this will mostly be for console gaming. Looking for OLED, 34 inch range and under $900.
I really don’t know shit about monitors so I’m open to any brand. Plz help me.
Asus PG34WCDN. Purchased from NewEgg.
So, I initially had an Alienware AW3423DW when it released, but wasn’t “wowed” by it. And back then, the games I played had a lot of issues with 21:9. I finally jumped shipped to my current Alienware AW3225QF 4K monitor, when it launched. I’ve been rocking that sense and have been somewhat happy with it. Although running at 4K gets to be a chore sometimes, even with an RTX 4090 - depending on the game…especially for someone that likes to just max everything out (Ultra or Extreme). But the Gsync on the AW3225QF was getting wonky in certain games. For example, I could not get Black Ops 7 to run “smooth” at all, no matter the setting. The only setting where it ran smooth was with FrameGen enabled.
Anywho, the appeal of Ultrawide started calling to me again, since it’d been a few years and I heard Alienware was releasing a new AW3426DW panel. But given it’s not out for a while here in the U.S., I started researching other monitors - I was kinda feeling a change of brand, anyway.
I was originally gonna go with the MSI MPG 341CQR X36, but what the hell is up with the stock? I’ve had it on order with Amazon for a while and it’s still yet to ship. So, I started looking at the Asus PG34WCDN and was reluctant, given it was so much more expensive here than the MSI variant. But I figured why not, with full bandwidth DP 2.1, I’d be future-proof if I decided to upgrade to a 50 or higher series video card later on. I’m pretty happy with my 4090 right now, tho.
So far, absolutely no regrets. I calibrated it per TFT Centrals “Best Settings” YouTube video (the only thing I skipped was turning Uniform Brightness on), set all my OCC profiles, did the HDR calibration, etc. It’s been perfect. Even Black Ops 7 is smooth as hell now, with FrameGen off! I’ve also noticed way less VRR flicker here, than what I had on my other. The only issue had had was initially, I’d get this weird, random black flicker once in a blue moon on my desktop. But after manually powering off the monitor for a minute or so and back on, it’s not done it any more. Also, I don’t have any of the weird “green tint” issues in HDR that a few have had, which I’ve seen on here. If it matters - my panel was manufactured in April 2026. No firmware updates yet, it seems. I do love the Asus DisplayWidget Center, lol. Just odd it doesn’t show an option to check for a Firmware update. To my understanding, it won’t show unless one is available.
Oh and I’m also loving the extra bit of FPS I’ve gotten from going from 4k 16:9 down to 2k 21:9. I’ll also say that I’ve not noticed any difference in sharpness with the drop, whatsoever.
Just wanted to give my quick experience here with some positive feedback, as this is the first Asus monitor I’ve owned.
This is a Samsung G9 57 monitor on my local FB marketplace being sold for $500. It's 6 months old. They said upon unpacking they peeled what they thought was a protective coating, my guess is it was the polarizer. The used a car tint to cover and secure that part. Is this worth it for the price? Or should I just go new. Just thinking that if I have panel issues in the future, they wouldn't honor the warranty due to the pre-existing damage on the unit.
Hi! I'm planning on buying the LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B. I've been using the Xiaomi Mi Curved 34" for the last 4 years and I want a big upgrade.
I wanted to go with a OLED, upgrade to 4k and stay on the UltraWide, and the 45GX950A-B gives me all of that, plus 45".
My question here is, I have a 5060 TI 16GB, I'm not going to use the monitor mainly for gaming, but, with that GPU, is it enough? I'm planning on upgrading it on the next 2-3 years, but for now, is it a good setup?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I want to update my setup to a clean single monitor - I may decide to use one of my old dual monitors above but will decide that later.
For now I'm looking for a monitor that can support my work & gaming. I've tried to do some research but getting overwhelmed at the options, originally I loved the LG 5K2K monitors, but the oled screen wouldn't work with the risk of burn in from my job. I then liked the idea of a Dell monitor with a built in KVM, but the 140hz max seems like a downgrade on my current monitor even if it is a small one. Finally I looked at the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 but the size and price both seemed a bit big.
Ideally looking for a wide/ultrawide monitor with these specs to meet my needs and a be a good investment going forward.
Thanks in advance :D
My rig for productivity and gaming! Switched out multi screen setup for a 45" 5k2k GX9 and it works so well with FancyZones
KVM for switching between macbook and my PC, im usually on wireless noise cancelling headphones and the MX Master 3s, but for shooters i switch to IEMs and my GPX
Real glad i got a great deal on all i have here, i must've paid half price for pretty much all of it
Two things.
Sometimes totally randomly the screen goes black for 10 seconds.
And it feels like the general brightness has been worse since 2023 whn i bought it.
Connecting via Macbook pro M1 with usb-c to displayport with 120 hertz.
Has anyone else seen this?
Title. I read text on my screen for 8-10 hours a day for my job and then game for fun… when my health allows! I have serious chronic migraines and also get extremely motion sick while playing FPS titles.
My daily driver has been a Samsung G50SD 1440 but it’s not a big enough screen for my job and the VRR flicker is VERY intrusive. Previously had an Alienware IPS doublewide and thinking of going back to that or the OLED equivalent.
My understanding is OLED is better for motion sickness and IPS is better for migraine, but I have no idea what I’m doing. Money is an issue so a $2000 500hz 8K OLED or whatever isn’t going to be possible, but if I need to stay under $1000 max what would you suggest?
I've been running 32in 4kin 240hz OLED for a few years now, and have always had an itch for ultrawide but didnt much care for 3440x1440 resolution on the larger screens due to the low PPI. Im curious on thoughts of trying out a 40in Samsung G75 5K2K VA panel in the $600-650 price range. The fact the OLED 5K2K units run $1300+, I'm not sure the picture differences are worth it to me for the price premium. Anyone been able to go back to IPS/VA after being on OLED for a while?
