I’m researching custom engagement ring designs and trying to understand whether my idea is realistic before taking it to a jeweler.
I’m considering a 3-stone ring with an oval center stone, pear side stones, a twisted band, and leaf/floral accents around the setting. I’m especially curious whether leaf accents and a tulip-style basket can work together without the design looking too busy or fragile, especially on longer/slender fingers.
For anyone who has gone through a similar custom design process: what design details do you wish you had considered before meeting with a jeweler? I’m not looking for vendor recommendations or pricing estimates because I know those aren’t allowed here—just general design/process advice so I can ask better questions when I start talking with a jeweler.
