Curious about the average engagement ring size. What feels comfortable and looks balanced?

I'm curious about the average engagement ring size in the US. I keep seeing different answers online and it's making me second-guess what I fought was normal.

If you're already engaged or married, what size did you go with. I'd love to hear what feels comfortable, what looks balanced on your hand, and if ever wished you went bigger or smaller.

what do you think of modern unique engagement rings over classic ones?

Been ring shopping for months and honestly thought I'd never find anything I loved. Then we stumbled on this modern piece that 's so unique it actually made me emotional. It's wild how a ring can feel so personal without being traditional. Who else went modern and never looked back?

Found a ring I love…but is it worth the price?

Hello, I would really appreciate some advice on this ring I am interested in and whether or not it’s worth the price.

It’s 14k gold plated and has a lab grown sapphire with an Antwerp Gemological Institute certification. The listing says it is hand made by a small family owned jewelry business (they have good reviews and a 3 year history on Etsy) but I cannot find a website for them outside of Etsy. I am seeing rings made with the same materials (14k gold plated and lab grown sapphire) selling for substantially less so I’m hesitant…

I really love the look of this ring and haven’t come across anything similar so I am trying to figure out if this ring is worth the $750+ price tag or not. I would really appreciate any feedback or advice you could give, thanks in advance!

Here is the listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4298226878/pear-lab-grown-padparadscha-sapphire

What style of wedding band would suit my ring best??

I’m a huge silver jewellery wearer, but would love for my wedding band to be a cooler shade of gold (10ct if i’m not mistaken!)
The last pic is a band I tried on earlier today…what do we think?

Have you ever went back to small?

Okay so with everyone getting lab and going bigger has anyone ever went back or stayed dainty and do you like it better?

Trying to decide what to do now that I lost weight and can no longer wear my rings. This is a cheap cz I bought at Kohl's just to have something to wear. I went from a size 8/9 to a 6.5/7 so what I had (bigger as in a cluster. The kids and hubs call it my class ring/super bowl ring 🙄😂) doesn't fit at all and is real floppy. It also being a cluster and a lot of smaller stones on the band means, I have to find out for sure, that I don't think it can be resized. So I'm potentially looking at selling or trading in.

And now that I have this little ring on. I'm kinda thinking I like the dainty look better, it feels better just wearing it everyday than my other did. It's lower and I don't bash it off stuff. And I'm worried I'll regret not having my "big" one though.

Thought?

Finally!

Finally got my self designed engagement ring. I am in love but I’m wondering if it looks good with my anniversary band and my wedding band, only one, or neither!

Please help!

I've been down the rabbit hole now for months, trying to find the perfect ring for my girlfriend of 16 years. We have 3 children together so this is very long overdue. I think I've found it, however the ring is sold and was way over budget at 14kusd. I'm hoping to recreate this vintage old mine cut ring. It's turning out to be very difficult to find a diamond in this color range and cut. Is this possible to achieve at a reasonable price? If so how should I go about it? I'm in Canada. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Tips

So my bf (35M) hinted that he is looking at rings already (32F). He has access to my pinterest board, but I told him I really want a marquise shape and he said no because it’s ugly. I already told him that I only plan on getting engaged and married once so my ring has to be to my liking. He kept saying it’s ugly. I already feel a bit down because he was previously engaged and I feel like this time it won’t be as special with me. Any advice?

Which setting looks best?

Need help choosing a setting for my 5 ct round brilliant 💍

After what feels like endless research, I’ve finally picked my diamond:
- 5.00 ct Round Brilliant (lab grown)
- E Color
- VVS1 Clarity
IGI Report: https://www.igi.org/verify-your-report/?r=LG\_792631924

The diamond will be price matched to the lowest price I’ve found ($1,141 from William & Sons), so now I’m just trying to decide which setting to pair it with.

Here are my top three (all prices below are the total cost, including the diamond):

1. Adiamor – $4,355
https://adiamor.com/your-setting?setting=R3138-Plat-Round&diamond=D-80328019
2. William & Sons Jewelers – Fiona – $2,501
https://www.williamandsonsjewelers.com/us/products/fiona-accent-diamond-engagement-setting
3. Rare Carat – Skyler Rolled Pavé – $4,774
https://www.rarecarat.com/setting/170-Skyler-Rolled-Pav%C3%A9-Engagement-Ring-SideStone/1835656?sp=/diamond-search

Since the stone is fairly large, I’m looking for something timeless, elegant, and secure that lets the diamond be the star. I’m planning on platinum.

A few questions:
- Which setting do you think complements a 5 ct round best?
- Is the Adiamor or Rare Carat setting worth paying roughly $1,850–2,300 more than the William & Sons setting?
- Does one look more durable than the others for everyday wear?
- Are there any red flags with any of these designs?
- If you own one of these settings (or something similar), how has it held up?

I’d also love to hear if you’d recommend a cathedral vs. non-cathedral setting for a stone this size, or if there are other settings I should consider.

Thanks in advance! I’ve stared at these for so long that I can’t tell which one I like best anymore. 😂

Lady Gaga engagement ring inspo for my own wedding

I was a huge Lady Gaga fan growing up, so now that I'm getting married, I keep going back to her engagement ring for inspo. I'm leaning toward a design that has the same look without feeling too over the top for everyday wear.

Anyone here ever style their ring after a celeb?

How much should I be saving for a ring like this?

Looking at proposing to my girlfriend obviously hahaha, but I have no idea how much I should be expecting to pay for a ring like this.

I know she doesn’t want anything huge or super fancy, for the wedding band we will look into some more detailed engraving and stuff but she has always said something along this design is nice.

That being said I have found so many varying prices and wanted to know what you guys have paid for similar designs. I know she wants something no bigger than 1ct so that narrows things down a bit.

Im also in BC Canada so CAD is helpful. Thank you!

Need some help

My fiancé proposed with a 3ct ring (first picture) and immediately I felt like it was too big and flashy for me as I am not big on attention being on me. After wearing it for a bit I decided to trade it in for a smaller 2ct (second picture). Now I am finding myself questioning whether it was the right decision. Also wondering if I am just in my head about it as I am an over thinker.

Falling in love at first sight with my marquise cut engagement ring

Just got my hands a marquise cut engagement ring. There's something about that shape, so unique but still classic, that makes it feel like it was made for me. Can anyone else relate falling in love with a ring the second you see it?
