Am I ungrateful for not wanting a cluster ring?
I’m 30 and my almost 38 year old boyfriend just showed me a couple cluster rings that he likes for me. I politely said that those are more mature rings, the older women in my family have those.
I want something simple and up to date. It doesn’t have to be expensive, I just don’t want a cluster ring. I actually want a lab grown marquise cut but I’m not going to be picky.
He said that it’s the thought behind the ring that matters but I don’t want to be walking around with NFL/Class Ring on my finger. It just isn’t my style. He proceeded to say that he didn’t want a gold band because it’s for older people, so I feel like everyone should have the right to preferences and taking into account what their partner wants .
He said he wants a black band, so I’ll get what I know he likes and feel that he should do the same .
If he proposes with it anyone should I say something again or just be thankful?
