Managed vs Self Directed RRSP account Wealth Simply

Why would you choose one over the other. If I am only interested in holding xeqt, what are the pros and cons of each account type

Move from RBC RRSP to Wealthsimply RRSP

Hello experts,

I may have made a mistake of keeping my money with RBC RRSP account, Currently I have RBC managed RRSP account with my money invested in mutual funds ( aggressive growth portfolio)

The amount is 40K

I am thinking of transferring this to Wealth Simply RRSP account and invest in XEQT

Also, I am not touching the money for 20 years

What do you guys suggest?? Is this smart of dumb move

My reason for move is high MUR with RBC

Edit: I looked into RBC direct investment account as well but in my case I want to keep buying more EFTs over and over. RBC charges $9.95 per trade (standard rate) for most ETF purchases, thus wealth simply I think is better in this way

Edit : Thank you everyone for your advices, great to have this community

What is your current Xeqt portfolio and how much do you invest monthly

Just curious on how much your current portfolio is worth and how much do you invest regularly. I am 34M, been living paycheque to credit to paycheque until now and just started investing 300$ - 400$ monthly recurring payments to Xeqt, yes I am late to investing but this is the only time I started to have savings. Currently 2000$ in xeqt only, plan to keep investing for the next 15 years or more.

EDIT: Thank you to everyone who shared your portfolios, experiences, and investment insights. It’s incredibly valuable to learn from different perspectives, strategies, and real-world results. Wishing everyone continued success on their investing journey! 📈🙏
