29F, Unemployed and Clueless

My work third party work contract ended suddenly in July. I have been actively looking for Job since, March and nothing seems to be working and since 1st August, I am officially unemployed.
Everyone keeps telling me I will get it but the job market is so harsh :/ and i always feel i am under qualified for any job that I really want.

So far all I have received is ‘no’ and ghosted by HR.

Looking to Transition into Medical Writing Full-Time — Advice/Opportunities?

Hi everyone!
I was working as a Clinical Research Analyst and had been doing medical/healthcare content writing on the side alongside my clinical research work.
Over time, I’ve realised that medical writing is the direction I genuinely want to pursue, and I’m now looking to transition into medical writing as a full-time career.

My background includes:
- Clinical research and clinical trial data
- Scientific/medical content writing
- Research and interpretation of medical information
- An M.Sc. in Microbiology

I’m particularly interested in medical/scientific content writing, healthcare content, clinical research writing, and eventually more specialised areas such as regulatory or safety writing.
I’d really appreciate advice from people already working in medical writing:
How did you land your first full-time medical writing role, especially if you were transitioning from clinical research or another related field?

I’m also open to entry-level/junior positions, internships, freelance opportunities, or remote opportunities with medical writing agencies/companies.

If you know of any smaller agencies or companies that hire writers remotely (including candidates based in India), I’d be very grateful for recommendations.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

How did you land your first medical writing job after working in a related field?

I’m currently working in clinical research/data-related work and looking to transition into medical writing.
For those who made a similar transition from clinical research or another life-sciences role, what was the biggest factor that helped you land your first medical writing job?

I’ve read that having a portfolio can help showcase your work, but I’m genuinely curious about what actually worked for others. Portfolio? Connections? Networking? Pitching yourself to people on LinkedIn? Certifications? Something else?

Trying to break into medical writing — portfolio feedback + advice appreciated

My qualifications: M.Sc. Microbiology.
Total Experience: close to 4 years

No formal medical writing job title yet, but I wrote website/content pieces alongside my regular role.
I’ve also built a small portfolio to showcase my understanding of the medical writing / medical content writing.

Would really appreciate some guidance and honest feedback.
