In that video tension is identified during B of the primary survey, but not addressed until later. I was taught to deal with life threats at each step as they're found, and in particular decompress during the primary survey if indicated. I'm assuming the EM physician has the correct approach, but I'm looking for some explanation/explication. how does it work in your practice?

Is that because chest tube requires some time and he wanted to get blood on board while that's happening/
