Remote Access has randomly stopped working
Screenshot of what I see in Plex Remote Access settings
So, I know people have trouble with Remote Access and they always say they know what they're doing, but....I kind of think I know what I'm doing? But it's not working so maybe not!
Anyway, I have PMS running on my network. Have for years - literally 10 years. I have remote access enabled and it's worked really well for forever.
Today, randomly, it stopped working. I am not double NAT'd. I haven't changed anything on the server or my router. I used CanYouSeeMe and confirmed the port forwarding is working and not blocked. I have used WhatIsMyIP and confirmed the IP address there matches the settings on my router. I have never had to do anything with Windows Firewall but just for fun I went in and allowed a full exception Inbound and Outbound for the Plex server app.
My PMS server has a static IP address that hasn't changed.
And here's the really weird part...I have a second PMS just for 4k content on the same network plugged into the same switch and remote access is still working normally. Both are running the latest (same) version of Plex 1.43.1.10611.
Just for fun I tried changing the port forwarding in my router and in Plex to a different external port and CYSM says it's open and working but it still isn't connecting.
When I connect in the server dashboard, I can see it connect briefly with the green check mark and 2 seconds later it flips back to the red ! The disconnect is between the public IP address (again...confirmed it's correct) and the generic "Internet" (see screenshot).
No Windows updates pending for either server, no new drivers downloaded or installed.
I've been beating my head against this for 2 hours. Any ideas?
