Question about lintel movement
above my double garage door, the brick is shifting forward. has moved about a quarter of an inch total so far. several masons have said it isn’t safe to correct without removing the whole gable…some shadier masons have agreed to do it with 2x4s but I haven’t called them back.
first, while this seems like a huge deal to me - is it really? second does the whole gable need to come down and third…is $9,400 including materials a decent quote? it’s the best price I’ve gotten from a reputable company in my area.
